Senior Software Development Engineer – ML Platform Join the ML Platform team and help build Expedia Group's machine learning platform enabling teams to develop, deploy, and manage ML models safely and at scale. Responsibilities Design, build, and evolve scalable machine learning platform capabilities, including system, API design, and data modeling. Deliver high-quality software using sound engineering practices, translating platform requirements into well‑structured low‑level designs. Improve platform reliability, performance, and operational health by identifying root causes and deploying resilient solutions. Partner with engineers and stakeholders to define technical approaches and support adoption of shared infrastructure. Apply strong technical judgment across services, balancing delivery with long‑term scalability and developer experience. Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent professional experience. 8+ years of relevant professional experience. Demonstrated ownership of complex services or multi‑service components within a technical domain. Strong proficiency in software engineering fundamentals (system design, coding, testing, debugging, performance). Experience with machine learning platforms, data‑intensive systems, or supporting model development and deployment. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing and scaling ML platform capabilities across broad engineering use cases. Experience leveraging AI‑assisted development tools and agentic workflows. Architecture leadership, pragmatic design decisions, and technical standards. Track record improving reliability, observability, and efficiency via automation and instrumentation. Experience working with AI/ML‑enabled products or platforms. Deep exposure to AI/ML workflows such as training, inference, feature pipelines, or evaluation frameworks. Compensation Base salary range: $184,500 – $258,000 for the Seattle location, with potential for up to $295,000 based on performance.
