Patient Safety Attendant

Monitor patient safety for an assigned patient population through continuous video monitoring surveillance Integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain patient and family cooperation Exercise sound judgment and therapeutic communication skills to support patients’ plans of care and safety needs Intervene or communicate with the clinical care team in a timely manner Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures Protect patient privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care Requirements HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) 1 year recent relevant experience Strong observational and communication skills Ability to focus and remain alert during shift hours Familiarity with basic computer and video monitoring systems Ability to work independently and report observations accurately Demonstrated competency of basic therapeutic communication skills, medical terminology, and equipment Ability to recognize an emergency and take appropriate action Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences Well-developed time management and organizational skills Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an environment with interruptions Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems using established options Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and healthcare providers Core Competencies Demonstrates strong observational and communication skills essential for monitoring patient safety and effectively collaborating with clinical care teams.
