Registered Nurse Brown University Job Description: The Registered Nurse is an integral part of the health care team atHealth Services that serves the diverse student population atBrown. The RN provides nursing care to students, administersmedications and injections, performs ancillary testing and nursingprocedures as indicated and provides patient education. TheRegistered Nurse is also responsible for providing triage topatients who present or call Health Services for assessment,treatment and/or advice. This posting is for a per diem position, 1 shift a week or 4 shiftsa month. Availability to work weekends and evenings isrequired. Job Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degreepreferred. Valid Rhode Island RN license required. BLS CPR certification required. 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience required, with a mixof ambulatory, emergency room and community health preferred. College health / adolescent health experience preferred. Job Competencies Ability to work with a diverse student population. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handleemotionally charged situations. Must demonstrate excellent judgment and decision-makingskills. Experience with electronic health records. Ability to provide culturally competent care to a diversepopulation required; experience working with diverse studentpopulations preferred.
