Feel free to enrich both your personal and work life and hop on board!Why you'll love this jobThis role is part of the Next-Gen Operations Platform and Business team within the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) division, with a primary focus on advancing the strategy, modernization, and implementation of Take-Off & Landing Performance (TPS), Operations Communication, and Aircraft Movement & Control System (AMCS) capabilities.The Next-Gen Operations initiative is a multi-year transformation program dedicated to modernizing American's Flight Operations ecosystem, retiring legacy platforms, and delivering future-ready operational capabilities. Within this transformation, TPS, Operations Communication, and AMCS represent critical operational domains that support safe, efficient, and reliable aircraft operations. The program consists of multiple concurrent workstreams designed to enhance operational effectiveness, improve decision-making, strengthen communication, and increase overall operational resilience.As an Associate Product Manager, Technology Product Management, you will help drive the strategy, design, and implementation of next-generation TPS, Operations Communication, and AMCS solutions. You will partner closely with operational stakeholders, product teams, and technology teams to define business capabilities, shape future-state operational workflows, and ensure solutions deliver measurable value to the operation. Responsibilities include leading requirements definition and prioritization, developing the future-state vision, reimagining operational processes, supporting organizational change management, and translating business needs into actionable product and technology deliverables. In close partnership with product and technology teams, you'll guide and support the successful execution of a complex, multi-phase transformation.What you'll doAs noted above, this list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced. • Synthesize broad company objectives into concrete problems to solve with measurable success metrics.
• Create and maintain an initiative source of truth document, including overview, stakeholder mapping, workstreams, and milestones
• Communicate updates effectively through verbal, written, and visual storytelling (e.g., slide decks, process maps, and documentation).
• Facilitate collaboration between product and non-product teams, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
• Partner with Technology Procurement to conduct RFIs and RFPs.
• Identify and recommend investment areas based on research and business goals.
• Track and measure the impact of strategic initiatives to support product management teams.
• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, bringing clarity and structure to ambiguous challenges.
• Influence strategic direction of the product(s) or cross-product journey
• Care for the customer or team member experience, considering upstream and downstream impacts
• Regularly collect, analyze, and synthesize customer feedback from multiple channelsAll you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• 3 years of applicable product management experience (i.e. Product Owner)
• 5 years of equivalent work experiencePreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience• Master’s degree in a related field with 2+ years of work experience
• Experience determining Product Market fit and defining a Go-to-Market strategy
• Demonstrate familiarity with Agile Product Management tools Skills, Licenses & Certifications• Relevant certifications in Product Management/Product Delivery field
• Has strong knowledge/expertise of product domain including the business model, constraints, regulations, user experiences, etc.
