Part-Time Medical AssistantBerman Skin Institute (BSI) is looking for energetic Part-Time Medical Assistants to work only Saturdays. Join our growing dermatology and cosmetic surgery practices. BSI has an opportunity in our Pleasanton Office. Hourly range from $21.00 to $35.00 an hour depending on experience.Position SummaryServe as a patient advocate during patient exam and treatmentShow patients to examination rooms, procedure rooms or operative rooms and prepare them for the physicianRecord patient's medical history, medications, allergies, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical recordsEnsure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing a patient for treatmentPrepare and administer medications as directed by a physician following safety protocol of right dose, right patient, right route, right drug and noting expiration dateExplain treatment procedures, medications, wound care instructions and physician's instructions to patientsHelp physician examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing tasks such as removing suturesUnder physician direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmaciesPrepare and clean exam rooms and medical equipment in between each patient and at the end of the dayAssist physician with surgical procedures while maintaining sterile fieldCorrectly dispose of infectious waste and bio hazard materialsSchedule appointments for patientsInventory and assess the need for instruments, supplies and equipment while keeping the room stockedPerforms accurate documentation of all procedures in a timely mannerInventory and order medical supplies monthly and ensure all equipment is in proper working orderAdheres to all policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer servicePerforms other duties as neededRequired Qualification (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Education/TrainingHigh school diploma or equivalentCertified Medical AssistantCPRMust be able to work Saturdays.
