Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Battle Creek seeking Lead Machinists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and train junior machinists on equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery for complex part fabrication.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with machinery to minimize downtime.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate part production.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures for all manufactured components.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Manage material inventory and order necessary supplies for machining operations.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to program, set up, and operate various CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.)
• Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CAD/CAM software
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including training and mentoring junior machinists
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on precision and quality control
• Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical drawings

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines
• Familiarity with various metal alloys and their machining properties
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
• Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings and schematics
