Location

Virginia Beach, VA – On-site. Enjoy working alongside a close-knit team in a welcoming office environment, with occasional work-from-home flexibility when personal circumstances require it.

Note

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, be a CPA or CPA candidate, and have public accounting experience working with construction industry clients, including both tax preparation and financial statement work.

Job Description

• Prepare and review federal and multistate business tax returns, including Forms 1120S, 1120, and 1065, along with individual tax returns.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including compilations, reviews, and audit engagements for construction industry clients.
• Manage general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, financial schedules, and supporting workpapers.
• Work directly with construction business owners to address accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting needs.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on tax planning, financial analysis, and client advisory services.
• Support audit and review engagements, ensuring accurate financial reporting and high-quality deliverables.
• Use professional accounting and tax software to manage engagements efficiently and maintain accurate financial records.
• Take ownership of your assignments while contributing to a supportive, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA certification.
• Public accounting experience serving construction industry clients.
• Experience preparing business tax returns and financial statements.
• Knowledge of construction accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Strong communication, organizational, and client relationship skills.
• Ability to manage assignments independently while collaborating with colleagues and firm leadership.
• Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Tax or Engagement is a plus.
