Location

Virginia Beach, VA – On-site. Enjoy working alongside a collaborative team in a welcoming office environment, with occasional work-from-home flexibility when personal circumstances require it.

Note

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, be a CPA or CPA candidate, and have public accounting experience working with construction industry clients, including tax preparation and financial statement work.

Job Description

• Prepare federal and multistate business tax returns, including Forms 1120S, 1120, and 1065, along with individual tax returns.
• Assist with financial statement preparation, compilations, reviews, and audit engagements for construction industry clients.
• Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, financial schedules, and supporting workpapers.
• Develop experience with construction accounting, tax planning, financial reporting, and client advisory services.
• Work closely with experienced accountants and firm leadership to resolve accounting and tax questions.
• Communicate directly with clients and help them navigate their financial reporting and tax compliance needs.
• Use professional accounting and tax software to prepare accurate, timely work while continuing to develop your technical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA certification.
• Public accounting experience working with construction industry clients.
• Experience with business tax preparation and financial statement preparation.
• Understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage assignments independently while collaborating with a supportive team.
• Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Tax or Engagement is a plus.
