Inside Solar Energy Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Inside Solar Energy Consultant based in the United States.

This fully remote sales role helps homeowners understand the benefits and possibilities of residential solar energy.
You’ll take a consultative approach to educating prospective customers, understanding their needs, and recommending suitable solar solutions.
The position combines relationship building, technology-enabled proposal development, customer service, and performance-driven sales.
You’ll guide customers throughout their purchase journey, from initial conversation and proposal review through commitment and installation coordination.
You’ll also work closely with internal teams and trusted contractors to help create a smooth customer experience.
Success in the role is measured through consistent achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals.
It’s an opportunity for an experienced solar sales professional to build relationships, grow revenue, and help make sustainable home energy solutions more accessible.

Accountabilities

• Engage with prospective customers to educate them about residential solar and guide them through the purchasing journey using a consultative sales approach.

• Assess customer needs and recommend solar programs and solutions aligned with their individual circumstances.

• Use technology and available tools to prepare, present, and review solar proposals with prospective customers.

• Provide high-quality customer service throughout the sales and installation process, maintaining clear and professional communication.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external installation partners to support a seamless customer experience.

• Consistently meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales and performance KPIs.

• Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional sustainable home improvement and financing products to existing customers.

• Maintain accurate customer and sales information using CRM and other business systems.

• Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment and take on additional responsibilities as business needs require.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of residential solar sales experience with a demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales goals.

• Strong consultative selling and relationship management skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and build trust.

• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and simply to homeowners.

• Positive, energetic approach with strong listening, written, reading, and verbal communication skills.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team-based environment while contributing toward shared goals.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset.

• Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, internet-based tools, CRM platforms, and standard corporate productivity applications.

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing customer interactions in a remote environment.

• Demonstrated commitment to integrity, honesty, and ethical sales practices.
