Position Summary As a Collation Supervisor, you will lead our production operations, ensuring manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will oversee a team of production workers, manage production schedules, maintain high‑quality standards, drive productivity, ensure safety, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the facility. Responsibilities Lead, manage, and supervise a team of production workers from Leads to general labor. Assign tasks and monitor the daily activities of the production team. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to employees. Ensure sub‑department production schedules and targets are met. Monitor sub‑departments production processes and adjust schedules as needed to meet demand. Coordinate with other sub‑departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production. Implement and enforce quality control standards and procedures for the responsible sub‑department. Inspect products to ensure they meet quality specifications for the responsible sub‑department. Identify and resolve production and quality issues within the time frame of the job schedule for the responsible sub‑department. Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the responsible sub‑department. Conduct regular safety inspections and coordinate training sessions for the responsible sub‑department. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards for the responsible sub‑department. Identify areas for improvement in the sub‑department production process. Implement and execute lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Implement and execute cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects. Maintain accurate and updated records of sub‑department production activities and initiatives, including output, quality, inventory levels, and implementations for the responsible sub‑department. Prepare and submit sub‑department operations reports to management. Document any incidents, accidents, or quality issues for the responsible sub‑department. Manage the allocation of sub‑department use of materials, machinery, and workforce to optimize production efficiency. Ensure that all necessary materials and supplies are available for sub‑department production. Identify training needs and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for sub‑department production staff. Inform the direct manager of any planned or unplanned leave presented during the work scheduled. Maintain open and constant communication about all sub‑department matters with the direct manager. Oversee routine maintenance and repair of production equipment to ensure optimal performance. Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule and manage equipment downtime. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve production performance for the responsible sub‑department. Use performance data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives for the responsible sub‑department. Address and resolve conflicts or issues among production staff promptly and effectively. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Related Field. Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Related Field (preferred). Certifications Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) – APICS. Lean Manufacturing Certification. Six Sigma Certification. Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) – SME. Skills & Experience Minimum 3‑5 years in a manufacturing or production environment. Previous supervisory or leadership experience (preferably 1‑2 years). Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques. Understanding of quality control procedures. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations (OSHA). Project management experience. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with performance metrics and reporting. Technical skills in manufacturing equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and troubleshooting. Team building and training experience. Physical Demands Ability to distinguish between colors, read fine print, and depth perception for operating machinery. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and frequent movement within the production area. Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 35 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting with assistance. Regular bending, stooping, and kneeling for inspecting machinery and handling materials. Frequent reaching overhead and below shoulder level. Ability to push and pull carts and equipment as needed. Regular use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, safety shoes) and compliance with safety protocols. Endurance to work extended hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as production demands. Ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts and high‑pressure situations.
