Collections Specialist

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Work Arrangement: Hybrid 2 days per week onsite after training

Hours: 40 hours/week

Salary: $41,600 annually + benefits

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Collections Specialist to join a leading financial services organization. The Collections Specialist will manage assigned delinquent accounts, communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances, discuss payment options, and provide professional customer service while following applicable regulations and company guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
• 01+ years of collections, call center, customer service, banking, financial services, or related experience.
• Experience handling high-volume inbound/outbound calls strongly preferred.
• Strong negotiation, persuasion, and customer-service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle challenging customer conversations professionally.
• Strong active listening, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational and time-management abilities.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with multiple systems.
• Experience with CRM/collections software and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Familiarity with debt collection regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
• Must be able to obtain any required collection license upon placement .

Training & Work Schedule

Candidates must be comfortable with onsite training during the initial training period . After training, the position will transition to a hybrid schedule requiring 2 days per week in the Indianapolis office .

After training, employees may be assigned one of the following schedules based on business needs:

• 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• 10:00 AM 7:00 PM
• 12:00 PM 9:00 PM

Candidates should be flexible regarding shift assignments.

Ideal Candidate

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in collections, banking, financial services, credit, customer service, or high-volume call center environments who are comfortable speaking with customers about payments and resolving challenging account situations.
