** Special Education Teacher / Head Teacher – Private School **

United Staffing Solutions is seeking experienced Special Education Teachers / Head Teachers for full-time permanent positions with a prestigious private Special Education school in Downtown Manhattan. We are hiring Elementary, Middle School, and High School Special Education Teachers for Grades 1–12. This is a permanent position for a full-year round/12-month program.

** Current Special Education Teacher openings include: **

• 2 Elementary Special Education Head Teachers – Grades 1–6
• 2 Middle School / High School Head Teachers – Grades 6–12
• * Grades 6–12 positions are open to ****general Special Education Teachers or content-area specialists****

** Location: ** Downtown Manhattan, NYC – easily accessible by the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, A, C, J, Z, R, and W trains
** Salary: ** $70,000–$85,000 DOE
** Schedule: ** Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.

** Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher / Head Teacher: **

• Developing individualized academic plans and learning goals based on student needs and assessment data
• Planning and delivering differentiated Special Education instruction for students in Grades 1–12
• Adapting curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Supervising and providing guidance to 1:1 and 2:1 classroom instructors and support staff
• Monitoring and analyzing student progress in academics, communication, behavior, and social-emotional skills
• Conducting and contributing to academic and behavioral assessments
• Implementing individualized student programming and educational goals
• Creating a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborating with therapists, related service providers, behavioral staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Participating in student meetings and contributing to educational and behavioral planning
• Communicating regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student performance and progress
• Working closely with faculty and school leadership to support academic and behavioral success

** Requirements for the Special Education Teacher / Head Teacher: **

• Master’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Special Education classroom or school setting
• ** NYS Teaching Certification / New York State Teacher Certification ** appropriate to the position
• Experience teaching students with diverse learning, developmental, behavioral, or academic needs
• Experience with or knowledge or ABA is a plus, not a must
• Strong classroom management, curriculum development, and differentiated instruction skills
• Ability to effectively lead a classroom team and supervise instructional support staff
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Content-area expertise in English/ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, or another academic subject is welcomed for Grades 6–12 positions
