Vendador is a luxury private dining company located in Chicago, Illinois. An exclusive culinary experience that transcends the traditional restaurant setting, Vendador offers tailor-made tasting menus for dining that redefines special events catering. Founded in 2021 by Chef Francis Pascal, our mission is to curate joyous core memories by importing an entire fine dining ecosystem to clients, transforming any space into a dining destination. Since our inception, Vendador has become the epitome of in-home private dining in Chicago.

WHO YOU ARE

We are hiring an Event Prep & Steward to take ownership of the care and preparation of our glassware, linen, and front-of-house inventory space.

This is a steady, independent position with a predictable weekly schedule. You will work primarily on your own, at your own pace, in a small, clean and quiet kitchen. There is no service rush, no guest-facing pressure, and no shift that runs late into the night on your core days.

We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in careful work and in things being done properly. If you have worked in hotel housekeeping, banquet stewarding, private clubs, professional cleaning, or restaurant support, you already understand the standard we are describing. Applicants seeking reliable part-time hours, including those returning to work or working a reduced schedule, are encouraged to apply.

THE WORK

Mondays — Glassware Recovery

- Run all event glassware through the dishwasher

- Hand-polish premium stemware (Riedel wine glasses, champagne flutes, coupes, cognac and cocktail glasses) to a spotless, streak-free finish

- Complete glassware counts and flag any breakage or shortages

- Return all glassware to its proper storage location

Tuesdays — Linen & Room Reset

- Fold and iron all event linen napkins from the clean pile

- Organize and reset the front-of-house storage room

- Support pack sheet preparation for the week's events

- Maintain order in glassware and dry storage areas

Event & Prep Days — Kitchen Dish Support

- Dish and glass washing at our kitchen on event prep and event days

- Maintain a clean, organized working station throughout the shift 

SCHEDULE

Core shifts are Mondays and Tuesdays, with additional kitchen dish shifts on event days. Events generally fall Thursday through Saturday, occasionally Sunday. Total hours are approximately 20–25 per week.

Your Monday and Tuesday shifts are fixed and will not move week to week. Event-day shifts are scheduled in advance.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Meticulous attention to detail, particularly with fragile and expensive items

- Comfort working independently without day-to-day supervision

- Consistent, dependable attendance — this role is one the team relies on

- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, including wine cases and event prep boxes, and to reach overhead shelving

- Prior experience in hospitality, housekeeping, stewarding, or professional cleaning is welcome

LOCATION & COMPENSATION

Our kitchen is located at The Hatchery, right off the CTA Green Line for ease of commuting. Having a car is helpful but not required.

$18.00 per hour.
