Cross-Border Private Client & Tax Associate or Counsel Lawyer

Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking a mid- to senior-level associate or counsel for its cross-border private client team. The ideal candidate will have, or be willing to develop, expertise in: (i) international tax, (ii) domestic trust and estate planning, and (iii) international trust and estate planning. The ideal candidate should have 3–7 years of experience in any one or more of those areas and should be interested in and willing to acquire knowledge in the others. The position is located in New York. You will be joining a close-knit team that services substantial global families with footprints across North America, Asia, Europe, and beyond. You will support counsels and partners on complex domestic and cross-border family office structuring, trust structuring, business succession planning, and tax-efficient wealth transfer arrangements. You will gain exposure to intricate international tax issues, foreign trust matters, and the legal challenges faced by globally mobile individuals and multinational family-owned enterprises. You will also have the opportunity to participate in thought leadership initiatives, including assisting with publications and CLE presentations. Key Requirements: 3–7 years of experience as a transactional tax lawyer, domestic trust and estate lawyer, or international trust and estate lawyer. Admission to the New York State Bar required, or eligibility to waive in. Interest in or experience with cross-border tax and trust planning. Prior experience in a sophisticated tax or trust and estate practice is preferred. JD from an accredited law school; law review, journal participation, or other academic distinction preferred. Strong analytical and writing skills. Work Arrangement: This position follows a hybrid schedule, with employees expected to work from the New York office approximately two to three days per week. Compensation & Location: New York office. Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The full-time base salary for this position will range between $270,000–$440,000 per year. This range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for a position in New York. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
