About the Position

License: Active RN license in accordance with NLC guidelines. Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Level I Trauma experience preferred. - Travel experience required. - Large hospital experience required. - Charting system experience (Epic preferred). Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical/Telemetry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in the specialty. The role involves a patient ratio of 1:12, utilizing a team nursing model which effectively reduces the RN's patient load to approximately 6 or 7 patients through collaborative care with LPNs and Med Nurses. First-time travelers are generally not accepted unless they have 5 or more years of experience in this specialty. The nurse may be required to work weekends as needed, with on-call duties as necessary. Candidates must not reside within a 100-mile radius of the facility. All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, as late submissions will not be considered. Experience in caring for adult and geriatric patients is essential. Daily patient census is approximately 42, in a unit comprising 47 beds. Recommended skills include: accessing/managing ports, management of BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, feeding tube care and management, and tracheostomy care. RNs will also be involved in telemetry monitoring, wound care, and managing various medical conditions as required. Candidates should have previous charge experience and patient ratio experience as outlined. This role emphasizes interdisciplinary support and collaboration with various healthcare professionals.
