Join the MasTec family and help us provide the highest level of quality service to our customers and communities while maintaining our commitment to safety!Responsibilities:Locate a Horizontal Directional Driller for the installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cableOperate a horizontal directional bore in collaboration with the Drill Locator to successfully install coax and fiber systemsEnsure the safety of the public and other underground utility facilitiesRead utility, locate, and coordinate the daylighting of these facilitiesTransport heavy equipment to and from the job site each dayQualifications:Safety is a part of your day-to-dayYou have a track record of completing work with a high level of qualityYou have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your workYou are looking for long-term projectsYou enjoy getting your hands dirty with your teamYou have at least 2 years of utility directional drilling experience in an urban environmentYou have experience with different-sized Vermeer or Ditch Witch drillsYou have the ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build processYou have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT med card for driving purposes (CDL preferred; applicants are subject to an MVR review, and must meet company standards for a safe driving record)You want to make an impact with your local community and enjoy being home dailyAt least 1-3 years of hands-on experience operating Directional Drilling equipment, often gained through working in the field under the supervision of a seasoned operatorFamiliarity with the installation of cables, pipelines, and other utilities in underground constructionExperience with GPS and Locating Systems and other survey equipment to track drill path and depthCompensation of $29-$34 per hour, depending on the experience.See what you'll get for your effort:Financial Security401(k) with company matchEmployee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Life insuranceShort-term and Long-term disabilityRed Wing Boot VoucherHealth and WellnessMedical, dental and vision insuranceDependent care and medical flexible spending accountsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Work/Life BalancePaid time offPaid holidaysFamily and medical leavePaid sick timeOvertime pay will be provided in accordance with California labor laws, at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a workweek.
