Infant/Toddler Teacher

Future Scholars Early Learning Center in Hainesport, NJ is seeking friendly and enthusiastic applicants for a childcare position at our center.

Responsibilities will include:

* Caring for and interacting with children to support play, exploration, and learning appropriate to the child’s age level
* Meeting the individual needs of the children
* Writing and implementing lesson plans utilizing the Creative Curriculum that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level
* Designing classroom arrangements to appropriately support the goals and developmental level of the children
* Maintaining a clean and orderly classroom that complies with governmental regulations and school procedures/policies
* Working well alone or with co-teachers to create a safe and positive learning environment in the classroom
* Participation in staff meetings and 20 hours of training yearly

The applicant must meet the following criteria:

* Must be at least 18 years old
* Must have a high school diploma or GED (Associates in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education or CDA preferred).
* Must have had at least 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare
* Must be able to provide 2 written references, preferably describing the applicant’s abilities and experience with children
* Must pass 2 background investigations (Child Abuse Records and Fingerprinting)
* Must be friendly, enthusiastic, drama-free, and have a positive attitude
* Must be a good team player, have excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities, possess the ability to multi-task, and have exceptional oral and written communication skills
* Must love children and be able to work with infants/toddlers ranging from 6 weeks to 3 years old.
* Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, have reliable transportation, and be available during our operating hours 6:30am-6:30pm Monday - Friday.
* Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
