Inspector III

[About the Role]
Join Leidos' Defense Systems Platform Integration Facility in Huntsville, AL as a Quality Inspector (Inspector III). You will play a crucial part in verifying and ensuring the quality of electro-mechanical parts, assemblies, and hardware essential to defense and aerospace applications. Drive product excellence while working with a dedicated team on impactful projects in a high-performance environment.

[Responsibilities]

- Perform in-process and final inspection of electronic units, mechanical assemblies, cable assemblies, and integrated hardware
- Conduct dimensional measurements, process audits, and material verification using standard measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches)
- Review blueprints, schematics, specifications, and documentation to ensure product conformance
- Document inspection results, generate quality reports, bubble prints, C of Cs, and NCRs
- Initiate and track non-conformance issues, supporting root cause investigations
- Support first article inspection (FAI) and maintain material traceability
- Collaborate closely with quality engineering, manufacturing, and other cross-disciplinary teams
- Maintain rigorous quality data and support continuous improvement initiatives
- May provide training to peers and support onboarding of new team members

[Required Skills and Experience]

- High school diploma or GED with 2-4 years' experience in ISO9001/AS9100, DOD, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing quality control
- Proficient with standard measurement equipment and inspection tools
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, assembly schematics, and specifications
- Experience generating inspection documentation and test reports
- Strong communication skills in a team-based environment
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds

[Preferred Skills]

- Experience with complex aerospace hardware inspection and Material Review Board (MRB) processes
- Knowledge of AS5553 counterfeit prevention and AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements
- Exposure to AS9102 documentation and Acceptance Data Packs
