Job Description As a Security Officer Patrol Observer in Ashburn, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security‑related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour Job Schedule: Daily: 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM (Mon–Fri) What You'll Do Provide customer service by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at an educational government location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner while communicating with staff, visitors, and/or first responders as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions. Monitor entrances, exits, and/or common areas to help control access, observe daily activity, and report security‑related concerns according to site procedures. Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and/or patrol activity, and relay important information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership. Minimum Requirements A guard card and/or license is preferred. CPR certification is preferred. Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
