Architectural Assistant (Growth Path to Designer)H&H BuildersDenver, CO | Full-Time H&H Builders is an award winning, high-end, design build, construction firm focused on delivering thoughtful, well-executed residential remodels across the Denver market.We are hiring an Architectural Assistant to immediately support our design and preconstruction pipeline. Who can grow into a key contributor on our design team.This role is critical. You will help eliminate bottlenecks in permit and construction documentation, support our lead designer during an upcoming maternity leave, and play a central role in how projects move from concept to construction.If you thrive in technical drawing, precision, and production-and want a clear path into higher-level design responsibility-this is a strong long-term opportunity.What You'll DoTranslate concept designs (1-2 sheets) into complete permit and construction drawing sets (10-15+ pages)Prepare accurate, code-conscious architectural plans for City of Denver submittalsCoordinate structural sheets with engineering partnersExecute detailed, high-accuracy construction plans (low creativity, high precision)Collaborate closely with:Design Lead (creative direction & oversight)Preconstruction Team (redlines, site plans, as-builts)Leadership (design intent, constructability, budget alignment)Growth & AdvancementTake ownership of larger portions of the design and production workflowDevelop toward handling full project drawing packages independentlyExpand into design contribution and client-facing work (based on capability)Potential to participate in sales/design-build conversations (optional, performance-based)What Success Looks LikePermit sets are completed accurately, efficiently, and with minimal revisionsProjects move through preconstruction faster and with fewer bottlenecksThe design team operates with greater capacity and less dependency on one individualYou grow into a trusted, go-to resource for production drawings and design supportWhat You BringExperience3-5+ years in architectural drafting, design, or productionStrong background in residential construction (custom homes or remodeling preferred)Experience producing full permit/construction drawing setsAbility to think in terms of the entire home-not just isolated spacesTechnical SkillsProficiency in Vectorworks (preferred) or strong experience in AutoCAD or similar architectural CAD softwareAbility to quickly learn new software platforms (Vectorworks ramp-up expected within ~2 weeks)Strong understanding of construction documentation and detailing standardsCore CompetenciesHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong spatial and systems thinking (how the whole house comes together)Ability to interpret redlines and execute efficientlyCoachable, adaptable, and growth-orientedClear communicator and team collaboratorEducation (Preferred, Not Required)Degree or coursework in:ArchitectureArchitectural EngineeringCivil Engineering (structural emphasis)Equivalent hands-on residential design experience is equally valuedCompensation & GrowthBase Salary: $60,000 - $80,000Performance Growth Path: Clear trajectory into the Architectural Designer roleOptional Sales (Future Opportunity):Commission structure tied to project revenue (e.g., ~5% of contract value at target margins)Potential to earn $50K-$100K+ in additional income based on performanceWhy Join H&H BuildersBe part of a tight-knit, high-performing team with strong design standardsStep into a role with immediate impact and long-term growthGain exposure to both design and construction executionWork directly with leadership and influence how projects are deliveredOpportunity to grow into a hybrid design + production (and potentially sales) roleWho This Role Is Perfect ForA strong architectural drafter/designer who enjoys the technical side of buildingSomeone who wants to move beyond "just drafting" into ownership and growthA professional who values clarity, structure, and execution-but also wants a path forwardIf you're looking for a role where your work directly impacts project success-and where you can grow into something bigger-we'd love to connect.Apply today and help us build better, smarter, and more efficiently.
