Operations Supervisor

Position: Operations Coordinator – Full Time

Department: Homer Industries, LLC.

Job Summary: The Operations Coordinator is responsible for assisting in overseeing the daily operational activities to ensure our business runs smoothly and efficiently every day. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at daily problem solving in order to seamlessly execute our daily workload. They may also perform various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the front office.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in scheduling and executing daily workload.
• Supervise fleet activities, ensuring drivers are dispatched quickly and loads are assigned/delivered efficiently.
• Act as the main point of contact and maintain communication with customers on planning and delivering materials to their site.
• Ensure accurate order entry and scheduling of deliveries.
• Utilize GPS systems to track equipment and adjust for delays in real time. Monitor for safety and coach drivers when needed. Present pertinent information to managers.
• Serve as escalation point for driver breakdowns and communicate with correct party to resolve issues.
• Maintain driver records and maintenance request reports.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Ability to work 40-50 hours on site with overtime pay
• Ability to create and read maps/familiarity of Chicagoland area
• Excellent customer service skills
• Effective telephone (oral) and written (email) communication skills
• Strong PC skills such as Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and also independently
• Attention to detail

Benefits:

• Starting pay is $18-27/hr
• Pay is determined by experience, skill, education, and other factors
