About the Role
Our client, a world-renowned sports organization is seeking a Data Scientist to help transform basketball data into actionable insights. This role focuses on building machine learning models to generate advanced basketball statistics and analytics that drive decision-making and fan engagement.
Key Responsibilities
•Develop machine learning models to produce new basketball metrics and insights
•Work closely with basketball analysts to ensure models reflect real-world game dynamics
•Deploy models and collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure scalability
•Translate complex data into clear visualizations and dashboards for internal teams
•Support ad hoc analytics projects as needed
Required Skills & Experience
•Strong Python and SQL skills
•Background in machine learning, statistical modeling, or data science
•Understanding of basketball fundamentals (analytics knowledge)
•Ability to work with large datasets and model deployment pipelines
•Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred
•Exposure to streaming data tools like Flink, Kafka, or Kubernetes
•Experience in sports analytics or other sports data projects
