Senior Accountant (CPA Required)

We are partnering with a well-established company in South Carolina to hire a Senior Accountant . This position will be responsible for overseeing accounting activities, ensuring financial accuracy, leading audit processes, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, process improvements, and providing guidance to the accounting team while working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role in Georgetown County, South Carolina.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
• Lead internal and external audits, including planning, coordination, and issue resolution
• Maintain financial documentation and prepare audit support schedules
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Develop and maintain internal controls to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency
• Review accounting processes and recommend improvements to strengthen controls and reduce risk
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements
• Identify accounting risks and implement corrective actions
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management
• Mentor and provide guidance to accounting staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

• CPA is required
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including audit experience
• Experience with ERP and accounting systems
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls
• Experience managing or leading audit engagements
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
