Maintenance Tech I

Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC) is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician I to join our team at one of our apartment communities in Woodstock, IL. The Maintenance Technician I assists with maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept residential property. This position performs basic maintenance, unit turns, grounds upkeep, and responds to resident service requests. Full-Time: 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday–Friday, on-call Pay Rate: $19.00–$21.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Assist with unit turns and prepare vacant apartments for new residents.
• Complete basic plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, carpentry, and general maintenance.
• Assist with basic HVAC maintenance and report major issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain common areas, building exteriors, sidewalks, parking areas, and grounds.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
• HVAC experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Reliable vehicle, insurance, and good driving record.
• Must provide own basic hand tools.
• Dependable, professional, and safety-conscious.
