Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12s or 4x12s | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract are expected. 48-hour contract options are available; overtime may be applicable after 48 hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting with a typical patient ratio of 1:2–3
• Perform ventilator management , IV drip titration, and telemetry monitoring
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation; recognize and manage dysrhythmias
• Apply strong neuro critical care skills including NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) assessment
• Lead emergency response and critical care management as needed
• Float as needed to Stepdown, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• Proficiency in Epic EMR — no exceptions
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Must pass an EKG/telemetry test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start (one attempt; no remediation available)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum three years of critical care experience strongly preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Strong neuro critical care background
• Experience with complex dysrhythmia identification and interval measurements
