Maintenance Manager

On-site | Full-Time | U.S. Work Authorization Required Position Summary The Maintenance Manager provides leadership to the maintenance team, establishes maintenance strategies, manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and partners with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to maximize equipment uptime and operational performance. Responsible for defining the problem, identifying objectives, assessing risk, developing approach, analyzing results and providing recommendations for preventative maintenance and equipment repairs. Coaches, trains and leads team members to improve efficiency, quality and performance. Develops and implements routine maintenance schedules and safety protocols for machinery, document all standard operating procedures. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery. Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues, minimizing production downtime. Leads or assists in the installation, upgrade, and repair of processing and packaging equipment. Collaborates with production teams to optimize machine performance and production efficiency. Maintains accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and repair documentation. Adheres to all food safety and OSHA guidelines during maintenance and repair activities. Coordinates maintenance activities (parts/repairs) on machines and equipment with suppliers and vendors as needed. Leads the organization in the development and implementation of a strong safety culture including policies, procedures and programs. Determines, measures and performs in-depth evaluations of key performance indicators; proactively addresses any gaps in performance standards. Meets all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements; participate in food safety meetings as required. Cultivates and promotes a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participate in safety meetings as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering (related field) or equivalent experience Ten (10) years of related experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment including project management preferred Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with can/bottling processing equipment and industry-specific maintenance requirements Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints Capable of performing troubleshooting analysis Exceptional communication abilities, capable of fostering strong internal and external relationships Ability to work effectively both independently as well as in a team environment to attain personal, team and company goals Well-organized and skilled in time management, prioritization, scheduling, and meeting deadlines Ability to learn and adapt to changing priorities Forklift Certified or ability to get certified within two weeks Valid Iowa driver’s license. Travel This position requires up to 5% of local travel. Work Expectations This is a regular, full-time position with daily hours on site. The ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary. Work is performed in a warehouse environment, manufacturing plant and occasionally outside in what may be adverse weather conditions. The work environment can involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, moving machinery, noise, visual strain, close quarters, fumes, odors, dust mists, and gases. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position requires long periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing and operating machinery. The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to up to 50+ pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Required to perform essential functions at heights more than 8 feet.
