Maintenance & Operation Manager

Job Summary for Maintenance & Operation Manager Des Moines, IA

- Monitor and operate production and processing equipment throughout the facility.
- Perform routine equipment checks to identify wear, damage, or developing issues.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and basic mechanical repairs.
- Assist with diagnosing equipment problems and restore machinery to normal operation.
- Support production activities and material movement as needed.
- Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, bearings, belts, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
- Document inspections, equipment readings, maintenance activities, and repairs.
- Communicate equipment concerns and production interruptions to supervisors.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations team to reduce downtime.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of tools, machinery, and work areas.
- Follow facility safety procedures, environmental requirements, and housekeeping standards.
- Participate in training and learn additional plant systems and maintenance procedures.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or plant operations preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to recognize mechanical problems and assist with troubleshooting.
- Reliable, attentive to detail, and able to follow written procedures and safety requirements.
- Willingness to perform physical, hands-on work and learn new equipment and processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude.
