Field Service Technician – West RegionContract-to-Hire | $30–$38/Hour | 100% Travel

Territory: Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Idaho, Wyoming & Montana
Home-Based: Candidate may reside anywhere within the assigned territory
Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday travel | Most weekends at home
Pay: $30–$34 per hour

Kelly Engineering is currently recruiting for a Field Service Technician supporting customers throughout the West Region , which includes Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana .

This is a contract-to-hire, home-based field service opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, working with industrial machinery, and traveling to customer locations to solve complex equipment issues.

The ideal candidate will have previous field service experience and hands-on industrial machine maintenance experience . CNC machinery experience is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

As a Field Service Technician, you will serve as a technical resource for customers throughout the West Region. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize sophisticated industrial machinery at customer facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Install and commission laser cutting machines, press brakes, and automation systems at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, calibrations, repairs, and equipment adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and automation-related issues .
• Identify root causes of equipment problems and determine effective corrective actions.
• Support equipment start-up and commissioning activities.
• Provide hands-on training to customers and end users on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Optimize machine performance and make recommendations to improve equipment reliability and productivity.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and provide detailed service reports.
• Collaborate with service coordinators, technical support, engineering, and other internal teams to resolve complex or escalated issues.
• Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers.
• Represent the company professionally at customer locations.
• Stay current on equipment technologies, service techniques, and industry advancements.

Travel & Schedule

This is a 100% travel, field-based position.

Your home will serve as your primary starting point, but you will travel extensively to customer locations throughout the West Region: Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana.

The typical schedule is:

• Leave home most Mondays
• Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned territory
• Return home most Fridays
• Most weekends are spent at home
• Overnight travel is a regular and expected part of the position
• Occasional travel outside the assigned territory, including international travel, may be required

Candidates may live anywhere within Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Idaho, Wyoming, or Montana. You do not need to live in a specific city.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

• 2+ years of field service experience .
• Hands-on experience with industrial machinery maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting .
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to diagnose equipment issues and determine effective solutions.
• Comfortable working independently at customer facilities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel 100% throughout the assigned territory .
• Ability to stay overnight away from home during the workweek.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation, schematics, and equipment manuals.

Preferred Qualifications

• CNC machinery experience .
• Experience with laser cutting equipment, press brakes, or industrial automation .
• Experience with machine controls and software.
• Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, start-up, or calibration.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field .

Compensation & Employment

Pay: $30.00–$34.00 per hour
