TECH - ER

Position Description Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services, the ER Technician is responsible for administering patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. The technician follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of patients with regard to their age and clinical diagnosis. The technician performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department to ensure and maintain smooth patient flow. The ER Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric. Qualifications One year experience in an acute care setting preferred. High School graduate or equivalent required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association. CPI is required within 30 days of hire. CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required - OR - Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
