Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Exciting contract opportunity available for an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI/BVI) for the 2026 Extended School Year session. This specialized role will allow you to make a meaningful impact with students who have significant visual impairments, including those with severe behavioral and physical disabilities, in a supportive, collaborative educational environment near Minneapolis, MN.

As part of a dedicated team within a single education center, you will engage a caseload of 10-15 students, providing expert instruction and creative support tailored to individual needs. Your work will be critical in fostering skills, confidence, and independence for your students during the summer program session from June 8th to August 4th, 2026. The schedule is part-time, Monday through Thursday, from 8:45 am to 12:45 pm, providing a total of 20 working hours each week and a wonderful opportunity to maintain work-life balance during the summer months.

Your qualifications and background should include:

• Certified as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI/BVI)
• Experience working with students who have visual impairments
• Comfort and skill supporting students with severe behavioral and physical disabilities
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Familiarity with individualized educational plans
• Commitment to inclusive and adaptive teaching practices

Key responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with varying levels of visual impairment
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual learner needs
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and family members
• Assist with/adapt educational materials and technology
• Document progress and participate in IEP meetings as needed
