Registered Nurse – PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (12 Weeks) | Rotating Days and Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized peri-anesthesia care in a 28-bay PACU serving patients across the full lifespan and spectrum of acuity, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Deliver vigilant pre- and post-operative care to inpatients and outpatients undergoing scheduled or emergency surgery across more than 20 surgical and procedural services
• Perform titration of vasopressors, airway management, and care of ventilated patients
• Administer blood products and perform fluid resuscitation as clinically indicated
• Participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts as scheduled, including 1–2 twelve-hour call shifts per six-week schedule
• Float within specialty, other units, and sister facilities within scope as required

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Strong ICU experience required
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Comfort with floating within scope to other units and facilities with no restrictions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification (American Heart Association only)
• NRP certification (NRP or AAP accepted)
• CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
• Experience caring for patients across a broad range of surgical and medical specialties
