Lockheed Martin is seeking a Data Analyst Intern. The intern would be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to develop immersive stories that answer business questions. Using proven and sound statistical methods, the intern will draw insights from data, and translate those insights into action that drive business results. The intern will apply mathematical and statistical methods to business and risk management problems.

Responsibilities

• Mine, process, and summarize data.
• Manage the quality assurance of data scraping, query databases for stakeholder requests, and triage data issues for timely resolutions.
• Analyze large datasets, draw valid inferences and prepare insights in narrative or visual forms, including dashboards.
• Set up and maintain data processes and new analytics capabilities.
• Produce and track key performance indicators.
• Formulate functional and technical requirements from business problems.

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and solving business problems using data sets.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including identifying requirements and addressing their data needs.
• Experience in Data Analytics development like Tableau, Power BI, BobJ, or querying languages such as SQL or PL-SQL.

Desired Skills

• Analytical skills and understanding of system databases, data elements and application software solutions to optimize data gathering and analysis.
• Ability to work in virtual teams.
• Experience working in Agile environments, with knowledge of iterative development, sprint planning, and collaboration with other teams.
• Familiarity with performance analysis of data warehouses and/or ETL processes.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, business acumen, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated with strong time management capabilities and ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

Ability to Work Remotely

Full‑time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position

4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $36,504 - $77,788. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
