Branch Manager

Branch ManagerManage the day-to-day operation of designated branch, including taking loan applications, making loan decisions within established policies; opening new accounts; and understanding all Credit Union policies, products and services. Managers service existing relationships while working to generate new business growth and relationships; supervise branch staff and ensure we consistently provide outstanding member service. Successful Managers know how to motivate the branch team and assist in reaching their performance goals while operating a member friendly and operationally efficient branch.Essential functions:Interview members and process consumer loan applications (gather data, credit report, validate employment, review collateral information, approve, deny and close loan)Open new accounts and cross-sell additional products to membersAssist with resolving any delinquencies and all collection issuesGenerate and maintain relationship with all membersCoach employees to be educated about credit union products, services, policies and proceduresSupervise and develop work practices for all employees and evaluating employees through performance evaluations.Reconcile and approve employee time cards and vacation requestsConduct staff meetings regularly to keep employees informed of credit union updates or changesWork with Account Service Rep or Universal Member Service Rep with appropriate reports and trackingCommunicate with all back-office departments of the Credit UnionAttend Manager's meeting and trainingResolve physical branch problemsProvide financial counselInterview 2nd mortgage applicants utilizing appropriate loan origination systemResponsible for compliance documentation and applicationsFollow up calls on existing applications in a timely mannerPre-approval follow-up in designated time linesWell versed in all aspects of branch operations including but not limited to the balancing, opening and closing of the branch.Complies with all federal, state regulations/laws as appropriate for the job function.Maintain safe deposit boxes if applicableCompetencies:Fluent in the English languageComfortable utilizing computers and technology, including online and mobile banking services.Attention to detail, maintain adaptability, flexibility and organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills including proven dispute resolution skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsSkilled in use of internal systems required for job functionSupervisory responsibilities: Retail branch staffWork environment: Retail branchPhysical demands:May require sitting for long periods of timeExtended period of time viewing computer monitorAbility to touch, feel, lift, operate and control equipment, tools and objects with the handsReachingCarrying, lifting up to 50 lbs.Travel required: Periodic travel to assist other branch locations as neededRequired education and experience:College degree or equivalent work experience preferred5 – 6 years credit union or financial institution experience, including customer service, lending, and managementExtensive loan sales training or experienceAdditional requirements:This position requires registration as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Lending System (NMLS) and registry on an annual basis in addition to maintaining updates as needed. Must be registered and approved by the NMLS registry within sixty days of hire date. Failure to register or maintain a current registry, or any criminal activity that would bar continued participation as a MLO may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
