Position Information Title: Veterans Upward Bound Recruiter Requisition Number: H01748P Category: Hourly / Work Study Location: Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week: 20-25 Months per year: 12 Pay Rate: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour Job Summary Educate potential program participants and community partners about Veterans Upward Bound (VUB). Represent VUB by tabling at college and community events. Develop and carry out recruitment and retention strategies for qualifying participants. Develop and carry out recruitment and retention strategies for qualifying participants. Required Qualifications Able to legally work in the United States. Must pass a background check. Good people skills. Sensitive to people with challenges. Basic computer skills. Preferred Qualifications Veteran or spouse of veteran. Former or current TRIO student. 1 year of experience recruiting for VUB or another TRIO program. Physical Requirements Lifting, raising, or moving objects, sometimes requiring substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles. Operating, activating, using, preparing, inspecting, placing, detecting, or positioning objects. Expressing or exchanging ideas with other workers. Receiving detailed information with or without assistance. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs of force frequently, with use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than sedentary work. Light work with negligible force constantly. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision necessary for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, using a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
