Designer - Interiors - Junior

Responsibilities Perform interior design assignments including interpreting client needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and construction documentation. Perform work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques and procedures. Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting. Generate design with 3D models, Revit, SketchUp or other software, creating digital 3D views to communicate design concepts. Create interior finishes, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction. Provide design support and documentation during the completion and execution of design concepts. Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators. Work synergistically with other design and professional staff. Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architecture. 0+ years of design leadership of interior design and/or architecture projects; recent workplace project experience is required. LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred. Experience delivering highly sustainable design solutions. Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills. Proficiency in Revit and other computer design programs. Must have a portfolio of workplace interior projects; ideally the portfolio should demonstrate a range of projects. Compensation The base salary will be estimated between $60,000 and $70,000, plus bonuses and benefits, and is contingent on relevant experience. Employment Location This position is located at our Chicago office and is not a remote role.
