About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director to lead its mission of community development and affordable housing. The successful candidate will be a leader with deep roots in or a strong connection to a place-based community, particularly one that is comparable to East Palo Alto. This role demands a significant amount of in-person time, with a focus on building the organization's capacity through internal growth, partnerships, and community relationships. The Executive Director will be responsible for providing vision, operational leadership, and strategic direction across all aspects of the organization, including affordable housing development, homeownership programs, housing policy advocacy, fundraising, staff management, and community engagement. The ideal Executive Director for the company will be a skilled generalist with financial acumen, housing development knowledge, and the political savvy to navigate a complex and shifting landscape. They must be a passionate relationship builder, capable of earning the trust of staff, board, community members, partners, funders, and elected officials. A key aspect of the role is to be a visible, trusted presence in the community and a credible partner to various stakeholders. The Executive Director will also be dedicated to developing and building staff capacity, supporting their professional growth, and ensuring the organization's long-term stewardship of its real estate portfolio.
