Growing together.As a Director of Pharmacy, you will lead all aspects of pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing, and supervising services in alignment with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with hospital leadership to implement innovative pharmacy practices, supported by proprietary CPS software, a dedicated support team including experts in operations, clinical, and regulatory as well as a CPS Area Director or Senior Vice President.Schedule: This full-time position works at least 40 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday. There may be occasional weekends/on-call to provide PTO coverage for a Staff Pharmacist.About the Facility: Ottumwa Regional Health Center is an 88-bed, Joint Commission accredited hospital. They provide a wide range of health services, including emergency medicine, critical care services, medical/surgical, acute rehabilitation, obstetrics, and pediatrics, as well as specialty services such as cardiac catheterization, diagnostic and therapeutic radiological services, wound care, pain clinic, sleep lab, pathology, and so much more.About the Pharmacy: Hours of operation are 6:30am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday, and 7:00am-3:30pm, weekends and holidays. The Pharmacy utilizes Meditech Order Entry software, Omnicell dispensing cabinets, Blue Sight Control Check Controlled Substance surveillance software as well as Sentri7 for clinical interventions and documentation.Primary Responsibilities:Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all pharmacy services within a single hospital, aligning operations with the hospital's clinical, quality, and financial goalsEnsure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use, overseeing clinical pharmacy practice, medication safety, and formulary managementLead, develop, and hold accountability for pharmacy leadership and staff, including managers, pharmacists, technicians, and support teamsEnsure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements, including Joint Commission, CMS, USP, BOP and state/federal lawsOversee pharmacy financial performance, including budgeting, purchasing, contract management, and cost-containment initiativesCollaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary stakeholders, supporting system-wide patient care, quality, and safety initiativesDrive innovation, performance improvement, and strategic growth, leveraging data, technology, and best practices to advance pharmacy servicesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:ACPE-accredited pharmacy degreeCurrent Iowa Pharmacist license in good standingPreferred Qualifications:PharmD3+ years of pharmacy management experience working in an acute care hospital settingPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
