Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer on behalf of our client in Salt Lake City, UT / Midvale, UT. This role is ideal for a technology professional with experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes-based platforms. The successful candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable platform solutions that enhance software delivery, operational efficiency, and developer productivity.

This position offers an opportunity to work with modern cloud-native technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container orchestration platforms, and DevSecOps practices within a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes.

• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.

• Deploy, configure, and support containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

• Build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure within GCP and/or AWS environments.

• Implement automation solutions that improve platform reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.

• Support cloud-native applications, microservices architectures, and REST API deployments.

• Integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform health using enterprise observability and logging tools.

• Resolve infrastructure, networking, deployment, and application platform issues.

• Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust platform solutions.

• Maintain technical documentation, operational standards, and deployment procedures.

• Drive continuous improvements across platform engineering, automation, and DevOps processes.

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related role.

• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD methodologies, and automation best practices.

• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.

• Hands-on experience with Git, source code management, branching strategies, pull requests, and release management.

• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm in containerized environments.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and REST APIs.

• Experience with build automation tools such as Maven or Gradle.

• Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages including Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bash, Groovy, YAML, Ruby, or Perl.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, ELK Stack, or OpenSearch.

• Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems.

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB.

• Familiarity with database migration and versioning tools such as Liquibase.

• Experience working within Agile environments utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe methodologies.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting cloud migration and platform modernization initiatives.

• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, security automation, policy-as-code, and secrets management.

• Experience implementing GitOps solutions using Argo CD or Flux.

• Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical enterprise environments.

• Professional certifications in cloud, Kubernetes, or DevOps technologies, such as:

  • Google Cloud Professional Certifications

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate

  • AWS Certifications
