Assistant Director - Daycare

Location: Milton, MA
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Employment Type: 3-Month Contract with Opportunity to Become Permanent
Pay Rate: $35-$40 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Assistant Director to join a childcare center in Milton, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for a childcare professional looking to take the next step into a leadership role.

The position will begin as a 3-month contract , with the intention of transitioning to a permanent position for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with the daily operations and administration of the childcare center
• Support and supervise teachers and classroom staff
• Help ensure classrooms provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children
• Assist with staff scheduling, coverage, and daily center needs
• Support enrollment, family communication, and administrative responsibilities
• Help maintain compliance with Massachusetts EEC regulations and center policies
• Communicate professionally and effectively with families, staff, and leadership
• Assist with addressing classroom, staffing, and operational concerns
• Support staff development and help maintain a positive team environment
• Step in to support classrooms and staff when needed
• Assist the Director with special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a childcare, preschool, or early education setting
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or administrative experience preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced childcare environment
• Knowledge of Massachusetts EEC regulations preferred
• EEC certification/qualification preferred
• A passion for working with young children and supporting early childhood educators

Schedule & Compensation

• Monday-Friday
• $35-$40/hour , based on experience and qualifications
• 3-month contract to start
• Strong opportunity to transition into a permanent Assistant Director position
