Application Support Analyst I for Dentistry

Position Summary We are looking for an entry‑level Application Support Analyst I for Dentistry. You will provide front‑line functional and technical user support for the core modules of the electronic medical record (EMR) and/or billing applications to ensure they meet business needs, participate in basic system maintenance, and work with a variety of applications used by the Dental School that interface with its equipment and clinical environment. You will use a ticketing system to resolve issues from the dental school and clinic. The role will be hybrid; early on it will require more on‑site training. It is eligible for all UTHealth Houston benefits. Position Key Accountabilities Provide first‑line technical and functional support for core modules of the EMR and billing applications received from the help desk or user community. Provide end‑user training for core modules of the EMR and/or billing applications. Participate in the evaluation, diagnosis, and resolution of problems reported by users. Participate in the maintenance and building of EMR and/or billing application dictionaries. Manage the security access module of EMR and/or billing applications. Manage the queue of all inquiries, problems, and requests submitted by the user community to be addressed by the support team. Perform other duties as assigned. Certification and Skills Knowledge of computer software, hardware, and programming. Work may involve handling biohazardous, chemical, and radiological materials, as well as operating associated equipment. Required safety training and appropriate engineering and administrative controls, including the use of personal protective equipment, must be followed. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field; or relevant four years of information technology experience in lieu of education required. Minimum Experience 1 year in applications support, preferably Allscripts/Sunrise, Siemens/Invision, and/or GE/IDX. Experience in a dental environment is a plus, but not required. Physical Requirements Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. Security Sensitive Position is a security‑sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code and relevant state codes.
