Collections Specialist (Accounts Receivable Specialist)

The Collections Specialist (Accounts Receivable Specialist) is responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payment collection, resolving billing and payment issues, reviewing credit limits, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role requires experience in collections, billing, cash applications, and customer service, along with knowledge of accounting principles, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and collection software such as YayPay. The position works closely with sales, billing, customer service, and finance teams to improve cash flow and support business.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain positive customer relationships to ensure payments are received on time.
• Contact customers regarding overdue invoices and outstanding balances.
• Investigate and resolve payment disputes, billing issues, and customer inquiries.
• Monitor customer accounts and identify signs of financial difficulties.
• Review and recommend customer credit limits and credit hold decisions.
• Collaborate with sales, billing, customer service, and cash application teams to resolve account issues.
• Document collection activities and account updates in YayPay.
• Analyze accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on delinquent accounts.
• Support audit requests and participate in internal finance projects.
• Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance collections and accounts receivable operations.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Meet collection targets and deadlines while providing excellent customer service.
