Brazos Learning Montessori School | Richwood, Texas

Brazos Learning Montessori School is seeking an experienced, dependable, and nurturing Infant Teacher to join our early childhood team.

Our Infant Teachers care for children 6 weeks to 17 months of age in a peaceful, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment. We are looking for someone who understands that infant care requires patience, attentiveness, consistency, teamwork, and a strong commitment to children's safety and development.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing, and responsive care to infants and young toddlers.
• Maintain active supervision and required child-to-teacher ratios at all times.
• Follow individual feeding, sleeping, diapering, and daily care routines.
• Support children's physical, social-emotional, language, cognitive, and sensory development.
• Prepare and present age-appropriate Montessori and Montessori-inspired activities.
• Observe and document children's routines, activities, and developmental progress.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and intentionally prepared classroom.
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and administration.
• Follow all school policies and Texas childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
• Participate in required meetings, training, professional development, and classroom observations.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 3 years of verifiable professional childcare or early childhood education experience.
• Infant and/or young toddler classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Must meet Texas Child Care Regulation background check and employment requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it within the required timeframe.
• CDA, early childhood coursework, Montessori education, or related training preferred.
• Montessori experience is preferred; however, candidates who are willing to learn and consistently implement Montessori practices are encouraged to apply.

Because consistency is especially important for infants, dependability, attendance, and punctuality are essential.

Candidates should be patient, professional, reliable, receptive to feedback, comfortable working as part of a team, and able to take initiative without constant direction. Teachers must maintain appropriate professional boundaries, confidentiality, and responsible personal cell phone use while caring for children.

This is an active, hands-on position that requires sitting on the floor, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying infants, diapering, feeding, cleaning, and supervising children indoors and outdoors.
