Manager Patient Access - Estimation Operations & Analytics VA, United States Job Description The Manager of Patient Access, Estimation Operations & Analytics leads the strategy, operations, and performance of patient financial estimation and counseling services to support an exceptional patient experience and optimize reimbursement outcomes. This role oversees a team responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, financial counseling, collections, and guidance on available financial assistance resources. The manager drives operational excellence through data analytics, process improvement, and change management initiatives while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development. In partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, this leader manages projects, implements strategic initiatives, and leverages performance metrics to enhance efficiency, improve financial outcomes, and support organizational goals across the patient access continuum. Location: This position is located at ICPH (8095 Innovation Park Drive) and is a hybrid position (once 90-day orientation is completed). Job Responsibilities: Lead the daily operations of the Estimation Operations & Analytics function, ensuring effective team performance through workforce planning, talent development, performance management, and strategic resource allocation. Drive organizational initiatives and manage multiple projects simultaneously, establishing priorities, tracking progress, and ensuring successful execution of departmental goals. Accountable for the achievement of monthly Estimates and Pre-Service KPIs, leveraging analytics, operational oversight, and continuous improvement strategies to drive performance, enhance the patient experience, and support revenue cycle objectives. Analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources to identify trends, inform decision-making, and support operational and financial performance improvement efforts. Facilitate collaboration and stakeholder engagement by guiding teams through structured decision-making, problem-solving, and change management processes. Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of patient financial estimation, counseling services, and reimbursement outcomes. Coach leaders and team members to strengthen problem-solving capabilities, accountability, and professional growth through ongoing feedback, mentoring, and development planning. Develop project charters, objectives, scope, timelines, and resource requirements to support the successful implementation of strategic initiatives. Establish and monitor performance management processes to ensure timely evaluations, employee development plans, and alignment with organizational objectives. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to improve the patient financial experience, optimize patient access operations, and achieve organizational performance goals. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Minimum requirements: Education:High school diploma or equivalent Experience:3 years of healthcare experience to include 1 year of supervisory/lead experience. Preferred requirements: Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership (supervisor/manager) experience in Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, Financial Counseling, Patient Financial Services, or a related healthcare operations environment. Experience with Epic or other major healthcare revenue cycle and patient access platforms. Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, regulatory requirements, and financial assistance programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage leaders, physicians, staff, and external stakeholders. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), patient access technologies, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Power BI. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex data and translate insights into operational strategies. Experience managing operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, metrics, and data-driven decision-making. Strong knowledge of patient access functions, insurance verification, authorization processes, financial counseling, price transparency, and patient estimation practices.
