Job Overview

The Associate, Onsite Generation & Power Origination supports CleanSpark's outbound path to power. This role conducts asset and market research, supports counterparty outreach, manages the outbound opportunity pipeline, and performs diligence and financial analysis on behind-the-meter generation opportunities.

Working closely with the Senior Manager, Onsite Generation & Power Origination, the Associate helps identify and prioritize generation assets and power-producer partners and prepares the analyses and materials that carry opportunities forward. Success in this role requires analytical rigor, commercial curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Research generation assets, gas infrastructure, and power market fundamentals to identify and prioritize outbound targets.
• Build and maintain target lists of generation assets, independent power producers, and power-producer partners; support outreach campaigns.
• Manage the outbound opportunity pipeline, including tracking, status reporting, and data hygiene.
• Support feasibility diligence across land, gas supply, water, permitting, and interconnection.
• Support financial analysis, including $/MWh and $/kW-month modeling and scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Prepare opportunity memos, market analyses, and presentation materials for leadership review.
• Coordinate with the Site Origination and Utility & Energy teams on shared diligence.
• Additional duties as assigned.

This role requires professionalism, analytical rigor, sound business judgment, and the ability to work effectively across a collaborative, fast-paced organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, professional experience, and industry training will also be considered.
• Two to five or more years of experience in energy, power markets, infrastructure investment banking or private equity, project development, or market research.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Ability to synthesize technical, commercial, and market data into clear recommendations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Willingness to travel throughout the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with gas-fired or onsite generation, power purchase agreements, or tolling structures.
• Exposure to data center or large-load energy demand.
• Experience with CRM platforms or project tracking systems.

This position may involve duties that require operation of a company vehicle or travel between job sites. As such, candidates must be insurable under CleanSpark's vehicle insurance policy.
