Lead Technician PositionDale Howard Auto of Iowa Falls is looking for an experienced Lead Technician to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment! Monday - Friday hours and an air conditioned shop!!Purpose of the Position:The Lead Technician plays a key role in supporting the service department by providing technical expertise, leadership, and daily coordination of the technician team. This position focuses on maintaining workflow efficiency, ensuring quality repairs, and driving accountability through daily goals and communication.Key Roles & Responsibilities:Help mentor, support & develop fellow technicians through technical support and guidanceParticipate and help lead daily Fixed Operations team huddlesMonitor shop workflow & work in process goalsEnsure quality and efficiency in work completed and departmental processesResponsible for helping establish, track and monitor team members performance goalsContinuous improvement and professional developmentDaily Tasks:Lead the morning technician huddle to review daily objectives, assignments, and priorities.Monitor technicians' progress throughout the day, ensuring daily work-in-process (WIP) goals are met.Serve as the first point of contact for technical guidance and troubleshooting.Support the Service & Parts Manager and Service Advisor in distributing work fairly and efficiently among technicians.Ensures team members are tracking and reporting their daily performance measurable(s)Review repair orders for accuracy, efficiency, and quality control before completion.Mentor and coach team members to support skills development and productivity.Provide feedback to the Service Manager on technician performance, shop workflow, and process improvements.Ensure a safe, organized, and professional work environment in the service shop.Assist with diagnostic and complex repair work as needed.Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of customer-first service.Stay current with OEM training and new technologies.
