Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / PCU (MS/Tele)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 20 Weeks | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined MS/Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric populations with a variety of complex diagnoses including CHF, COPD exacerbations, NSTEMI, new-onset AFib, arrhythmias, sepsis, and renal failure/AKI
• Monitor and manage higher-acuity patients consistent with PCU-level care standards
• Maintain awareness of unit census (average daily census of 30) across a 30-bed unit
• Float within specialty as needed per unit requirements
• Participate in holiday and weekend scheduling as assigned
• Adhere to all unit and system compliance requirements, including timely completion of onboarding documentation and modules

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact RN license at time of submission
• BLS certification (AHA only) required
• CPI certification required (The Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers with strong CPU and PCU experience managing higher-acuity patients may be considered
• Must reside 50 or more miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification (AHA only) preferred
• Prior experience in a combined or higher-acuity stepdown/PCU setting
• Comfort with floating within specialty scope and no scheduling restrictions
