Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 20 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Active RN state license Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, CPI Must-Have: Experience in telemetry, ability to float within specialty Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse on a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to adult and geriatric patients. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, urinary tract infections, acute kidney injuries, pneumonia, cholecystitis, and congestive heart failure. The nurse will have a patient ratio of 1:5. Floating to other units within the specialty may be required. All scheduled holidays are mandatory as required. Every other weekend commitment is required. Utilization of the electronic medical record system is expected. Navy blue scrubs are required for uniform. Required skills include managing intravenous therapy, cardiac monitoring, and care for patients with complex medical conditions. The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Phlebotomy skills and experience with various medical procedures are preferred. Candidates must be comfortable with all aspects of patient care within the telemetry specialty.
