Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Stepdown Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Active Wisconsin RN or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted at submission but must be obtained during compliance Minimum 2 years of recent IMC/IMCU, PCU, Stepdown, or comparable higher-acuity nursing experience required Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted Current BLS and ACLS certifications required and must be active/in hand at submission NIHSS certification required; may be completed during compliance Community hospital experience required; Level II Trauma experience preferred Epic charting experience preferred Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients with typical ratios of 1:3–4 Strong cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac/vasoactive drips, arterial lines, central/PICC lines, chest tubes, tracheostomy, and high-flow oxygen skills Experience with neuro stepdown, post-cardiac procedures, insulin/heparin protocols, ABG interpretation, wound VACs, and Rapid Response/Code situations Must be flexible to work variable 12-hour shifts, primarily days (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) with 3:00 PM–3:00 AM or 3:00 AM–3:00 PM coverage as needed Two supervisor references required after offer; one must be from the most recent assignment or permanent position Candidates with latex allergies cannot be accommodated Staffmax Healthcare Job ID 18893680.
