Position Purpose:

The Life Enrichment Specialist is responsible for fostering social, intellectual, and occupational wellness by creating opportunities for social connectedness, meaningful engagement, lifelong learning, and community involvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word preferred.
• Some experience working with the senior or aging population recommended; has a passion to work with elders.
• Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis. May push residents in wheelchairs as needed.
• Is able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language; has the ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Is able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, clients, family members, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations.

• Serves as a key member of the Affordable Living Resident Support Team
• Plan and facilitate group programs, activities, and special events.
• Encourage resident participation and peer engagement.
• Support volunteer initiatives and resident committees.
• Promote opportunities that support lifelong learning and purposeful living.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident well-being.
• Foster meaningful relationships and community connections among residents.
• Assist with maintaining activity calendars and participation records.
• Support programs that enhance intellectual, emotional, occupational, social, and environmental wellness.
• Build relationships with residents and community partners.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the AL-Resident Support team.
