Position Overview The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services seeks a State Central Register Call Center Worker. The role provides statewide telephone coverage for reporting alleged child abuse and neglect, makes intake and screening decisions, and secures necessary information to complete reports. Essential Functions Serve as State Central Register Call Center Worker Provide telephone counseling or referral services for crisis situations; maintain familiarity with statewide resources for referral Ensure all alleged reports of child abuse/neglect are entered into the computer terminal Monitor incoming written reports for CPS units Perform other duties as reasonably within scope of duties enumerated above Minimum Qualifications Preferably a master’s degree in social work or related human service field, plus one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience in family preservation, reunification, adoption, youth development, counseling, advocacy, or related field Or bachelor’s degree in social work and one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience in the same areas Or bachelor’s degree in related human service field and two years of directly related professional casework/case management experience in the same areas. Degree must be from an accredited institution; social work program approved by the Council on Social Work Education Class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title Conditions of Employment Pass a background check Physical, visual, and auditory ability to carry out assigned duties Ability to work mandatory overtime Education Social work or a related human service field Other Information This position is a union position; provisions of the relevant collective bargaining agreement apply. #J-18808-Ljbffr State of Illinois
